Bad Boy Blog Launches!

March 15th, 2006

Yesterday (March 14), Bad Boy Blog launched.

Bad Boy Blog is an unofficial Diddy and Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group fan blog. Bad Boy is best known for it’s music, through Bad Boy Records, featuring such artists as Diddy (Bad Boy’s Founder and CEO), The Notorious B.I.G., Mase, 112, Faith Evans and many others. Bad Boy is also home to the popular clothing label, Sean John, in addition to Bad Boy Films (Bad Boy’s of Comedy, Making the Band 2 and 3), Justin’s (restaurant) and more.

I’m a huge Diddy and Bad Boy fan. I really enjoy the music and I like staying up to date on them and even writing and talking about them, so when I had the idea of doing an unofficial fan blog, I thought it sounded like fun and here we are.

iFroggy Domains Out of the iFroggy Network

March 15th, 2006

As of yesterday (March 14), iFroggy Domains is no longer in the iFroggy Network.

A few weeks or so ago, I decided that I wanted to get out of the domain name registration business after about 2 and 1/2 years of service. Paramount in my mind was my clients and their overall satisifaction. So, I devised a plan for them to be taken care of appropriately while maintaining uninterrupted access to their domain names. In so many words, each client will be getting their own eNom account under mine (the domains are already at eNom, since I am an eNom reseller). The iFroggy Domains site will stay open for quite some time as we work to transfer clients from the iFroggy Domains site to the eNom site. But, as we have now stopped accepting new account registrations, I felt it was time for it to come out of the iFroggy Network.

As a few people have asked, I should mention that this, in no way, affects iFroggy Hosting, which has always been a seperate entity from iFroggy Domains. iFroggy Hosting will continue as normal.

Finally, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the understanding and kind words that many of my (former or soon to be former) iFroggy Domains clients have sent along to me. I have appreciated your business and I wish you all the best in the future. Thank you.

And another one!

February 28th, 2006

phpBBHacks.com was mentioned a few times in Internet Intern: phpBB 2, a German phpBB book from Data Becker. It was released back in October, but this is the first that I have seen of it. A big thanks to everyone involved.

The book was authored by Stefan Paulus, Maik Schlicker, Peggy Tytschkowski and my friends Christian Knerr and Karsten Ude. Although I cannot read German, I am sure that this is worth a look for anyone who can and is interested in learning how to operate a phpBB.

phpBBHacks.com Mentioned in phpBB: A User Guide

February 28th, 2006

phpBBHacks.com was mentioned a number of times in a new book from Packt Publishing called phpBB: A User Guide.

This book is an abridged version of the previously published Building Online Communities with phpBB. So, if you want a phpBB book, but don’t want to know some of the more intricate details (such as how to write a hack) and would like to save a little money, you may want to take a look at it.

I served as a Technical Reviewer on that book and as this book is but a shorter version of that one, I also served as a Technical Reviewer on this one. It was written by Stoyan Stefanov and my friend Jeremy Rogers (a longtime member of the phpBBHacks.com Support Team). Congratulations to them on the release and thank you to Packt for allowing me and us (phpBBHacks.com) to be a part of it.

iFroggy Design Out of iFroggy Network

January 12th, 2006

iFroggy Design is out of the iFroggy Network and the site has been taken down.

You could say that, up until today, the iFroggy Network site that has existed the longest is iFroggy Design. I started developing websites “professionally” for people in the fall of 1998 (before there was an iFroggy Network) and that is when iFroggy Design - or what iFroggy Design would eventually become - was started. It was called PSM Web Design. Later, it became PSM Web Development. Finally, iFroggy Design.

Developing websites was the first thing I did online as far as working for money. Soon, though, I had other ideas. I had ideas for sites of my own. And I developed them. At first, they were rough - some would say bad. But, you have to start somewhere. For a while, I continued to work for the various clients that presented themselves.

But, for quite a while now, I have been turning down any offers/potential offers, as I am focused on working for myself and my own projects (iFroggy Network) than working on projects for other people. I had been leaving it up incase a project would be offered to me that really interested me or someone was interested in having me handle a reasonly quick job for them and in the mean time, just kept working on my own. I have been (and still will be) doing some small work for friends and family here and there, but I am (more or less) completely focused on my own project these days, besides that. So, I felt that it finally made sense to take it down and take it out of the network.

phpBBHacks.com Mentioned (Many Times) in New phpBB Book

December 30th, 2005

Building Online Communities With Drupal, phpBB, and WordPress is a new book written by my good friend Jared Smith and published by Apress.

I’ve known Jared for years. I met him because of phpBBHacks.com and he was one of the original members of the Support Team at phpBBHacks.com. He was there in those early days when we really had to grind (not that we don’t now) to establish ourselves and simply not die - despite what others might have wanted. He was a big part of it and I’ll always be greatful for his support during that time.

So, it’s a great feeling for me to see a second book co-authored by a member/former of my Support Team (the first was Building Online Communities with phpBB authored by my friend Jeremy Rogers, current phpBBHacks.com Support Team member).

phpBBHacks.com was mentioned quite a few times in this book (even on the back cover). I know what you may be thinking “well, Jared’s your buddy, of course.” That’s not Jared. He mentioned us because we’re the best (in his opinion), not because of me. Individuals like Jared (and Jeremy) are a part of what makes what I do worth it.

It is an honor to be mentioned in such a way in a book of this quality.

DrGregHouse.com Blog Launches!

December 16th, 2005

The DrGregHouse.com News section has been relaunched as the DrGregHouse.com Blog. Basically, I got tired of the “news section” format. The activity was sporadic and it was kind of boring. So, instead of a news section, it will be a straight blog where anything related to House can be mentioned. We may even get into live blogging some of the episodes. The Comments link goes right to the DrGregHouse.com Forums and TrackBacks are enabled. For each blog post, a topic in the forums is created, so there is “some” integration, although it’s not complex.
